Life's journey!

A year has gone by and so much has happened. The family picture on this blog was taken about a year ago and soon we will have to replace it with a new family picture of the 5 of us!! Wow did I just say the 5 of us!! It seems like just yesterday I was apart of just a family of five...me being the youngest. Now I am going to be the mom of a family of five! Our once little family of five has grown into a family of 8 adults and 5 soon to be 6 grandbabies! Our little family of 5 grew into a family of 14 in just a few short years.

So much to think about with life being too short and kids growing too fast. It was just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with my first baby and I was soon to be married. Now my third baby is due in just 5 short months and my oldest is 3. Its crazy where life takes us, on this journey, on this path and we have no idea where it's going to take us next.

Trying to survive...

We try to give our kids everything we can. Sometimes what we can give them just isn't enough. For me, My kids have everything they need and they always will. That not only being because Grant and I work as hard as we can but also from Grandparents and Great Grandparents. And sometimes what we can give them just doesn't seem like enough, in the eyes of the parent anyway. Kids don't need a million toys, or a big house, or a big bedroom, or a nice vehicle, or anything fancy. Heck Dalyce plays with shoes and containers most of the time and Austin watches a lot of movies and reads books. Grant and I have been looking for a house with 4 bedrooms the last little while because I am determined to give each of my children their own bedroom. This might be delayed a little bit more than expected but it will happen one day I'm sure.

Austin woke up this morning to discover that it was snowing. He yelled "Mommy look it's snowing, now I can go outside and build a snowman right?" Good thing Austin finally got a snow suit last weekend (from grants parents) so that when there is enough snow he can go outside and build a snowman!

Sometimes we take for granted the little things in life that are most important. Money isn't everything, I know we need it to survive but it isn't everything. Sometimes just barely getting by does a family more good than harm. I wouldn't be the person I am today if my parents were rich or had everything handed to them. I was tought to work for everything and be proud of what I've got. I was tought that family is the most important thing you can have. And you can't buy love, especially from your kids!!

My Husband!

I have been extremely fortunate to have Grant as my husband and sometimes I take that for granted (lol...does anyone else find that funny....I have grant and I take him for granted...teehee). Anyway, everytime I get pregnant I get very emotional and I blow things out of proportion and I make things seem way different than they are and I take things the wrong way...and I do this all to Grant. When we get into an argument he always just agrees with me and keeps his opinions to the bare minimum because he knows there is no budge room with me when I'm like this. He has to tell himself that I'm pregnant and I'm not usually like this. Thank goodness he does because I think he would've been long gone if he wasn't so understanding. I got to thinking yesterday that the romance in our relationship has dissappeared and so I was grumpy yesterday. Grant kind of agreed with me but we both said that we have a lot on our plate right now and I'm not the easiest to romance when I'm grumpy all the time. I agreed with him on that aspect. So I woke up this morning and came downstairs with the kids and saw a bunch of paper on the floor...the first one said hi and then there were arrows towards the counter and then another one that said look at the pictures on the camera. The first picture was a piece of paper that said Good Morning, the second said I Love You... and the third was of Grant with a piece of paper stuck to his shirt and his arms out wide and the piece of paper said This much!!! And he also changed my computer screen to heart balloons and he wrote on it that he loves me very much!! I hope hes ok with me posting this but I don't care. I wanted to share this with the world and let him know that I appreciate everything he does for me and the kids.

Drawing Board!

Austin always wants Grant and I to draw on his drawing board. He usually tells us what he wants us to draw and this time he asked me to draw Daddy and Mommy and Dalyce and Me...so I did.......

Apparently I only have one boobie!!!!!!!

Morning Routine...

Every morning I get up with the kids, make their breakfast and start my daily routine of checking my facebook, email and bank account. This morning, like every other, was the same however I kept coming across the story of Tim Harriman. I have read everything that everyone has posted about him including his own posts on his own blog. I have sat here in front of my computer reading and watching everything everyone has written about his life and I am touched by his courage. I cannot help but wonder how his wife Christa is doing because I know I would be a complete wreck. It also makes me think about his parents, How would I cope with the loss of one of my kids, even the one that is barely here yet is growing like crazy. I don't like to think that I take anything for granted but we all do. Life is too easy compared to thrid world countries or people like Tim who fought for his life.

I sit here and wonder why I was put on this earth, why I am here, what am I supposed to do with my life. I wondered this morning why my kids are here, are they supposed to mimic everything Grant and I have done and do? I wonder what they are going to grow up to be. Whatever it is I will love them no matter who they become. I cannot help but feel a little bit of guilt because I know I do not wake up every morning happy to be where I am doing what I do. Don't get me wrong I love my kids to death, but sometimes I wish I could sleep in just a little bit, but then I wake up with them and one of them gives me the perfect smile, or they make me laugh by the things they come up with. I wonder what my life would be like if I didn't marry Grant and I chose a different path. It's like that Friends episode "What might have been" where it shows what might have happened if all of the 'friends' chose a different life style for themselves. I am so happy and lucky to be living my dream. A lot of people ask me and question me about my life. Why didn't I go to school, Why did I get married and have kids so young? Ever since I was very young all I ever wanted was to marry this amazing wonderful man, have kids and be a great mom. Well guess what, my dream came true and for some, they are still trying to get there. I always wonder how I got so lucky!

Ultrasound baby number 3!

I had my first ultrasound of baby number 3! It went well. I am only 7 weeks and 4 days apparently, so my new due date is now May 12th, 2011. You could barely see anything on the pictures so I didn't bring any home, but I will next time! I saw the heartbeat which was a tiny blinking spec on the screen. Not much to see at such an early time!!

I have started a baby pool at http://bebepool.com/dutchak so please go and make a guess! I will be collecting $10 a guess for people who want to contribute. Half of the money will go to the closest guesser and the other half will go to baby! You can still make a guess and not pay any money if you'd like you just won't get any of the winnings! I won't be counting the color of the eyes, hair and the name. Everything else though will be counted! You will have to give me your money before I close the pool which will be way closer to my due date obviously! Thank you to everyone who will be contributing!

Baby number 3 is on the way!

In case you didn't know, I am pregnant (yes, again) with our third child. I am about 9 and a half weeks along. So only about 7 more months to go. I am due on April 25th. I have my first ultrasound scheduled for Monday (27th)! I don't know if we want to find out what we are having, we are still deciding. We won't be able to find out until I am about 18 weeks though so still 9 weeks to decide!

Lisa "So what do you want Austin, another baby sister or a baby brother?"
Austin "Another baby sister, a green one"
Lisa "A green one...ok?! What do you want her name to be?"
Austin "Four"
so apparently austin wants an alien baby!

Austin I think is definitely grasping the concept more than Dalyce for sure but she will understand soon enough I think. I know she will be quite the little helper when this baby comes. When Michael and Tara came over to babysit she wanted to hold Lucas, so I let her but she didnt really know what to do. I took him away because it was difficult to hold him there and keep her from poking his eye out and she got sooo upset. I know she will love this new baby very much!!

The kids are growing up sooo fast these days. I usually send Austin to Dalyce's room in the mornings while I am still trying to get up and this morning was quite funny to listen to. Dalyce can't talk yet but she pretends sometimes and it's quite funny. Austin holds a little conversation with her that she is only responding with noises and he just pretends she is saying things. I guess you have to be there and listen to them to understand how cute it is.

They also now play together kind of. The last couple of days you will see them sitting beside each other playing with toys together. Dalyce follows Austin around everywhere he goes sometimes and when austin stops to sit and play he tells her to sit down and she does. Sibling fights are already starting. Austin takes stuff away from her all the time and she spazzes. He is also quite mean to her sometimes. But she can also blow things out of proportion because she is a little princess sometimes!

Austin has his costume for halloween. He wanted to be a dinosaur this year so that is what he is going to be. Dalyce can't decide for herself yet so of course she is going to be a little fairy princess. Ruth has ordered a tutu and I bought her some wings. I think we are just going to take her in the stroller so I wasn't going to go all out on her costume this year! However she will still be adorable!

Anyway I will stop typing because I could go on forever about my kids! Thanks for stopping by!
